So he is loving the water this year. A big change from last year. Papa has a pool at his place and we have gone there a few times. We also go to the pool every monday as a field trip with the kids at school. He has his swimmies and tends to stay where he can reach, but he has started kicking his legs and dog paddling. I am so proud of him. He has sure built his confidence in the water
Sorry I haven't posted in a while the Wade family has been busy. A few quick updates: * Mike and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary on May 17th. I really can't believe it has been that long. * Mike's sister Katie graduated high school on June 1st! We are all very proud of her. * I celebrated my 27th birthday with my family and friends. Had a great day although I was really missing my grandpa this year...(we shared a birthday)I got some very nice things from my family and my kids at school. *Christopher graduated preschool! He will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. Not quite sure where though..still working on that. The school that he is supposed to go to doesnt have transpotation to daycare so I am trying to get a transfer to the school that does. It's actually the same elementary school that I went to.
so thats the quick updates. The kids are getting big and suprising me all the time with the new things they are learning to do....
I finally got my new car!!!!!! i am so excited.... We haven't sold the truck yet, but we are working on it. I need to take pictures so we can list it on Craig's list, but he weather hasn't been cooperating this week. So I haven't taken any of the car yet either. I am hoping the weather will cooperate today and since I am home with a sick kid I can get out there and take pictures of both of them. But I ended up with a 2002 Toyota Rav4. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! Its blue and 4 doors, has a sunroof and power windows, locks, a alarm, and much more. I feel like I have really stepped up in the world :)We ended up driving 2 hours last Saturday to look at some cars we had seen on craig's list, but that ended up being a waste of time. We found a few others at some nearby dealers and decided to head out on Sunday in the rain to look at them. We looked at a couple but I kept getting drawn back to this one. So in the end that was the one I got. I am so blessed to have a husband that has worked his butt off to buy me my new car. So that is my mother's day present as well as my anniversary present and I couldn't ask for anything else from him
We had a busy Easter weekend. We spent Saturday baking deserts and coloring eggs. Marissa didn't want to help color the eggs so it was just Christopher and I. We had fun. Christopher enjoyed coloring on each of the eggs before choosing which color to drop the egg in. He also decided he wanted to see what the egg looked like so we cracked one open. He even tried it and said he liked it which completely shocked me! The Easter bunny decided to hide baskets instead of a scavenger hunt this year. Just seems easier to keep the scavenger hunt for the years it is just Christopher. The years we have Marissa she has to be home by 9 AM. So the morning just seems rushed. The Easter bunny was good to both kids and they got 2 coloring books, a new box of crayons, a movie, magnifying glass, candy, chocolate bunny, chalk, and a pinwheel. Marissa also got some socks and a cross necklace and Christopher got some spider man tattoos and a power ranger sticker book. We had a light breakfast before Marissa left and then we got ready to go over to my mom's for a egg hunt and a early dinner. I just love seeing my nieces and they looked so cute in their Easter dresses. Christopher was mister speedy at finding his eggs I guess next year we have to hide them a bit harder. He told Nana she was a "great hider" though! We had a great Easter even though we missed papa!(hope you are enjoying your visit in FL) Love and Miss everyone. Enjoy the pictures!
Well we had a coin drive fundraiser at Christopher's school. Basically the child who brought in the most money from each class was choosen to be the prince/princess of their class. Christopher was the prince of the 4's class mainly because nobody else from his class participated so I threw in $10 for him. Anyways the prince and princess for each class recieved a sash and crown to wear to the king and queen ceremony. All the other children were sitting in the chapel area and all the prince and princess walked in. Each prince and princess chose a card off a table. only 1 card had a king symbol and only one had a queen symbol. The kids picked 1 and then they all revealed. Drum roll please....................................The king was CHristopher!!! Only he was't too thrilled. I probably could have kept my $10 for the fit he threw. He didnt want the crown or sash, didnt want his picture, etc. I think he was just embaressed by all the attention. Anyway I got a few pictures but my camera was acting up so they arent the best.
Mom and I took the kids down to DC to see the cherry blossoms. They are absolutly beautiful and they were in their peak bloom this weekend. The weather was absoulutly perfect. I guess everyone thought so too since it was packed down there...so much so that there was a line that we had to wait in for 10 minutes just to get into the metro to come home. It was a great day and the kids had fun especially when they were able to run about and climb this big tree over by the monument. Christopher thought the monument was very cool and kept calling it the big castle....He really enjoyed watching some people fly kites. Mom says one year we will actually go when they have the big kite flying day...Took lots of pictures so enjoy!
My baby is officially 5! We celebrated his birthday with a nice party at home. Even though it was raining and we didnt get to enjoy the moonbounce the kids still had fun. Mom and dad came as well as Cindy, Michael, Kim, Aexis, Katherine, Bobby, and Ms.Lacy. We had a nice day filled with hamburgers, hotdogs, fruit, chips, macaroni salad, and of couser a very yummy birthday cake from costco's. Christopher recieved everything he wanted. He got a Nitendo Ds and game from us, a case for the ds and a game from mom, a bike from dad, a football and sprinkler from Michael and Kim, Money and perfection game from Grandma Cindy, a bakugon and coloring book from Ms. Lacy, and a gift card from Bobby and Ms. Kathy. He also recieved gift from our family and friends that couldn't be with us...a BIG THANK YOU to Grandma Carol for his red ninja turtle robot-He was very excited! Aunt pat for all his hot wheels-He's already been in the bathroom changing the colors on them :) Aunt Katie for his Trackster car he can't wait to play it online, Grandpa Pete for his 1st real putter and balls-daddy has to take him out now! Aunt Kathy for the $5 he was excited to see the 5 on the card and money.... Uncle Justin and Aunt Laurie for his book of prayers we cant wait to learn some new ones.
Even though the weather didnt cooperate with us it still turned out to be a good day spent with family and friends. Thanks to everyone!!! We Love and miss you all!
I woke up to a beautiful arrangement of flowers from my hubby today. He is the sweetest...He didnt even get home from work til 3 in the morning, but still managed to bring me home something....Gotta love him.... Christopher was given a stuffed dog and box of chocolates from me and daddy. He loved them and gave me a big hug and said thank you. We enjoyed some yummy heart shaped french toast. So its been a great morning....I have NO plans today. I feel like poo! I hope everyone has a great day!
I have waited all winter for our 1st snow....I was very excited that we finally got some today. I was really wishing for a snow day, but nope schools were open which meant I had to go in. So Christopher and I got ready for work/school and off we went. By this point it was really coming down and the roads have not been treated or plowed yet. So we take it sloooooow....slipping and sliding but I am ok I have control...until we get to this big hill...there is a truck off to the side that everyone has to go around, but its only a 2 way road...so everyone is stopped...well I am sliding toward the car in front of me tap the breaks and pull onto this side street....I was a mess...shaking and crying I really thought I was going to crash...there was no way I was making it down that hill...so I called work..I am very blessed to have a wonderful boss who through my crying was able to calm me down and told me not to worry about coming in just to head on home....So we head on home slipping and sliding the whole time...45 minutes commute for what would normally take 5-10 minutes...So I got my snow day after all....although it started off very rough we ended up having a blast...Christopher loves eating the snow and couldnt wait to go out and make a snow angel....I am so glad that he still had his snow suit from last winter (THANK YOU GRANDMA!!!!!) and it still fits him.... we bundled up this afternoon and headed out for a bit with his buddy down the street. the boys had fun but we only lasted about 15 minutes before Chrisopher was freezing....they are calling for more snow this afternoon, but I hope the ice they are also calling for holds off. I don't want any of that stuff. Here are some pictures from the snow. Enjoy!
